Folks,

I have pulled my gearbox out as its caked in oil and I now have it on the block. It runs fine but its been leaking oil for some time by the looks of it.

Im looking at changing the gaskets/seals on it as its been untouched by the looks of its since 1989.

Im no mechanic but have a workshop, a good tool set and am methodical. Can a home mechanic replace 9 and 13 (which looks like where the oil may be comming from?

OEM link is below.

Is there anything else i should look to overhaul (im doing to the selector as well seperatly) whilst the box is on the block.

any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Most leaks of 13 are actually leaks from 17 running down and around 13.

Thanks Brian, appreciate the tip... Given It's on the bench I will do them both for good measure.

Drive flange at the rear can and will leak along the splines - sealant needs to be added.
