it was a non runner so first thing was to find the problem.
first thing i cheched was the air filter and found this...



the bottom plate on the air flow metre had dropped off ,stuck it back on and BINGO!!!!! FIRED STRAIGHT UP

thats the good thing about it, floor,sills,wheel arches,front skuttle are all good and dont require any work, found a couple of random bits but pretty much a solid shell. this is the 13th e30 ive owned (and still own a 88 m-tech 2 cab,had it for over 10 yr,but it a shed now ..lol)so ive got a pretty good idea what to look for and qh btw im a welder

If the flap was stuck open it might have upset things a bit.

so what condition are the seats in bud ?

the seats are gone and so is the shell , i only have front panel,doors and the bootlid left from it .

Seeing that pic makes me wonder ,

Is it possible/viable to strip a 325 air flow meter to just the metal so it can be polished/re finished ?
