Red needle clocks myth or fact?

Been told by someone that worked at the dealers in the 80's that they were hand painted at the dealers with red nail vanish.

Any truth to that?

On my neon blue cab. when I bought it, along with neon blue painted window switches and a few other bits that shouldn't be. Needless to say, all have been replaced.

Of course you can!

Just be very careful who's make-up box you raid....

And if you apply too much,your rate of acceleration will suffer...

You can still see E30 needles at night if they are painted as the instrument cluster is back lit from the top, needles not illuminated.

If you really want lit up needles, fluorescent paint and a few UV LEDs around the edge should do the job.
