Looks like a nice box, I'd imagine it would sound pretty good.

Looks like a Magnex box. If it is the centre section is different from OEM and this might not fit.

pretty sure it's not a magnex as it was fitted to a 3-piece system and the ends were the same [spliced] as the scorpion .

stuck a booster pack on the car today and pulled it out of the garage ..[ only to get my engine crane out though ] .

Image

Image

the drive is clear so i can crack on with loads of room .

first job though is to get some gear box mounts/brackets made up same as the ones pictured below to mount the 6-speed .

Image

Image

to save the hassle of f00kin about under the car with a tape measure upside down i had an idea

Image

Image

all ready for the machine shop to fabricate some supports :D

i've known about the below areas of grot on the front end for a while that will be taken care of when the bay gets painted , the sealer under the washer bottle must act as a sponge for all the spilt washer fluid ... on a brighter note the replacement panel was only about £30 delivered .

go Pacer :wan:

what would you consider a fair price for a good job ? it's going back to the place i had the drivers side scuttle done .

i want to quieten it down a bit and let the poowah ! do the talking so i purchased this rare gem ... an Ernst mild steel back box with same size tail pipes as the scorp but without the asbo winkeye

out with the old .....

in with the recycled winkeye

i'll see what happens mate ^^

been waiting to take the car for the body shop to look at , he told me last week to bring it along the beginning of April [ << think i'll leave it till after midday on the 1st to be safe  ]
to price it up and f00k knows how long of a wait for the book in date... his work is good though ..

facebook link >>>>>>>>>>

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Keith-Fli ... ts&fref=ts

one thing i can get done while i'm waiting is the prop , i have an e36 328i prop and want to know how much i need to shorten it by for the 6-speed box ... if anyone knows ?

Jim did tell me but i've forgotten it's been that long :(

the scuttle corner Sweep cut out for me turned up and not long later so did my tame welder :D

Image

he cut the rot out and again done an amazing job cutting the patch exactly for the weld to be dressed up flush .

Image

Image

Image

Image

^^^ cut out rotten part of lip and seam welded in new lip .

That's me very happy with the quality of the work and the cost , total £150 for all the welding . The car is off to the painter on friday, a 3 mile drive on a trailer to his bodyshop .

nearly at the excited wee stage :D

Make sure you check the numbers as ECP have been known to supply the lesser 525e clutch labeled up as a 325i one
