Looks like a nice box, I'd imagine it would sound pretty good.
stuck a booster pack on the car today and pulled it out of the garage ..[ only to get my engine crane out though ] .

the drive is clear so i can crack on with loads of room .
first job though is to get some gear box mounts/brackets made up same as the ones pictured below to mount the 6-speed .

to save the hassle of f00kin about under the car with a tape measure upside down i had an idea

all ready for the machine shop to fabricate some supports

the strip down has started , engine will be out soon then off to get a new cover/flitch panel fitted [ drivers side ] and the engine bay painted .

the engine bay lets the car down ^^ , looking forward to having all nice and fresh

i've known about the below areas of grot on the front end for a while that will be taken care of when the bay gets painted , the sealer under the washer bottle must act as a sponge for all the spilt washer fluid ... on a brighter note the replacement panel was only about £30 delivered .
go Pacer

what would you consider a fair price for a good job ? it's going back to the place i had the drivers side scuttle done .
i want to quieten it down a bit and let the poowah ! do the talking so i purchased this rare gem ... an Ernst mild steel back box with same size tail pipes as the scorp but without the asbo
out with the old .....

in with the recycled

Jim did tell me but i've forgotten it's been that long

managed to find a tame mobile welder instead of waiting for the body shop to pull their finger out and book it in .

impressive Mig ^^^ weighs a tonne with both us lifting it in and out of his van....i let him move the gas bottle
...
well he was on for 7 hours doing a great job which i'm very happy with.
the repairs were done properly drilled out spot welds etc just what you would want to see

these two bits are the passenger inner wing , welded flush and dressed ...

all that graft for £100 YES £100
he's coming back to do the scuttle corner as soon as sweep cuts the one out he's got for me .....

HOWAY peter man ya holding the job up

the scuttle corner Sweep cut out for me turned up and not long later so did my tame welder

he cut the rot out and again done an amazing job cutting the patch exactly for the weld to be dressed up flush .

^^^ cut out rotten part of lip and seam welded in new lip .
That's me very happy with the quality of the work and the cost , total £150 for all the welding . The car is off to the painter on friday, a 3 mile drive on a trailer to his bodyshop .
nearly at the excited wee stage

I drop the car off in the morning so i had a couple of hours cleaning little odd bits up with wire wheel and rust remedy treatment , degreased the whole engine bay then sponge washed it clean , i tidied up the wiring and fuesbox into a bag and removed clutch/brake lines, servo etc .

everything taken care of my end as far as progress goes THEN ecp send a fookin LUK clutch out instead of the Sachs one i ordered .I've ordered another sachs one getting delivered tomorrow at the closest branch to exchange for this

i'll check it's the right clutch that turns up before i set off

made myself a new clutch alignment tool

propshaft to sort out next .
