Hi guys,

I am new to this game... just purchased an E30 316i tourer, a little under powered i know but an immaculate car.

The problem is my head is touching the roof with the seat fully down when i am in my upright sitting position.

Does anybody know a way around this??

*I AM 6FT

I have a long drive to Edinburgh at the weekend and dont fancy slouching all the way there!

Thanks

Jordan

Have you found the seat up-down adjustment/is it working? Push down the lever by the seat hinge.

Yes its fully down, i also checked the passenger side and its the same there.

I have a saloon that does not have a sunroof and i have no problems in this.

I understand the roof is slightly lower for the sunroof but there must be some way around this?

Theres no distance in non or sunroof roofs, one zoner kieran is 7ft tall or something he hasnt got a problem in his sunroof cars, it must be your seat adjustments ! :)

I will double check again but it seems odd that both passenger and drivers seat is the same.

The drivers seat is a spare from an old E30 i took apart.is there something i can do to set it to a minimum before i put it on, then when i put it on lower it further with the leaver?

Hi can I ask if you have the back of your seat upright??

I can not sit at an angle due to a pelvis injury

I'm 6'3" and have no issues with height adjustment in my touring - also don't have the seat leaned that far back either.

As above it sounds like there is a problem with the height adjuster

Just had the car checked by a E30 enthusiast and the seat is fine. It has full height adjustment motion and is level with the passenger seat (which I also touch the roof in) However my friend is 6ft2 he sits in the car with half an inch clearance, I must have a really long body and or big head.

Is there any way of cutting something of the bottom of the seat and welding it back together but shorter?

thanks again!
