cheers karan i'm good at bodging stuff

it's gonna sound good though i hope. not expecting much more power as the rest's stock apart from filter and zaust
yeh 6 branch would sound awesome on an m30 cos they sound tasty on m20s as it is

if it don't fit i'll just buy a lhd shell instead and put everything on that!

i'd actually like a LHD, it would mean i could turbo it relatively easily in the future. if i bashed mine then that't what i'd get, a lhd shell

Looking good dude !!!

I'd go for the smaller servo and leave the plenum alone, fit poly engine mounts from Ireland Engineering in the US and you should be laughing.

The only time mine catches now is if the engine doesn't catch properly on start up and if i piss about spinning my wheels.

I want to get the Golf GTI servo and use the E28 M535 off set engine mounts on mine to move the engine slightly to the passenger side so i've got more clearance between the down pipe and the steering coupling, the only problem is that the mounts are thicker than the M20 ones.

I don't think the standard M20 mounts are strong enough.

yeh im running stock m20 mounts..... they do appear softer and i know the e28 m5 ones are a hardser rubber. but yeh they do raise the lump quite a bit!

ill get the poly mounts then i reckon if the engine does swing arounf

gold servo it is then :D

I would hate to say i told you so!

But i will! SO Listen to me, i seen both cars and the H35 had a sponge between the inlet and booster, it was cut and a plate welded in just like pacers touring. An inch is only 2.5cm and thats not allot when you look at the movement of the engine.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Sent you a text after new yearsasking how it was..

What brakes are you going for under the 15"s?

I got some for the same reason as you - street sleeper look - but worry about getting big enough brakes under them. The 280's I have are OK but not good enough I fear. Considering 5 series 302mm*28mm disks and calipers (or just caliper carriers if this is possible) with fast road disks and pads.

Also: Do you still have the M5 disks? I beleive they are 315mm*28mm which is the same as an e36 M3 but have a lower hat to disk offset (which is what I need measuring). The reason I ask is that I have some M Roadster calipers that bolt to my hubs but require the inner E36 to E30 M3 spacer adapters to use the M3 disks. I'm wondering if I can fit these calipers and the disks from an M5. Obviously I'd need bigger wheels (bummer) but I'd like to know my options with the stuff I already have.

Many thanks dude and good luck finishing this project!
Hopefully see you Monday at ACE.
