I'm looking to change all the bushes on my car in the next few weeks and was wondering whether its best to go with genuine bmw, or the likes of powerflex polybushes or similar?

Ok thank you. Is there any real benefit of getting aftermarket bushes. Will they all last around the same amount of time and give similar handling characteristics?ImysE30 wrote:Or BMW, you may be surprised with the prices quoted

No benefit whatsoever with aftermarket bushes, with the possible exception of the anti roll bar support bushes, and several drawbacks.
Most feel the steering response is improved by fitting OE E30 M3 front control arm bushes, E46 OE rear damper upper mounts are stronger and longer lasting than E30 ones, and the rear anti roll bar links from a 2000 Ford Mondeo estate provide a longer lasting replacement for E30 front roll bar links, for about the same cost.
Your rear trailing arm bushes very probably do not need replacing.

Lemforder and TRW are OE brands and are very well priced on euro car parts.
