Brake Upgrade Kit ......
Moderator: martauto
Mates , What do think ?
Tomorrow i'll take my conversion plates from the forge ,
i am Upgrading the brakes of my e30 ,
Using E32 Calipers , with Auti TT 312mm x 25mm Rotors .
I Guess Now the Car will Have Better Brakes ,
I've seen E30 with EVO6 calipers and rotors , Subaru Calipers and Rotors , Mercedes w124 brakes and rotors .
But those TT 312mm are damn too good , So I am Goin For it ,
Also It's Amazing i don't have to Miss up with my Hub and the 4x100 diameter , just the conversion plates and Some Rotor Redrilling .
Photos Will Be Posted Soon .
Cheers .

I've Read about it somewhere online , And The Conversion didn't include any master cylinder replacement , I'll try it on the OE Master Cylinder , If It's Rubbish i'll get an e36 M3 one or maybe a 7 series one .
I'll hit the Realoem to see what cars had the same cylinder as the E30 , if the 7 series had the same then there'll be no problem .

7 series E32 master cyl a must have on this I'd suggest
std m/cyl will work but long pedal bigger piston area means the m/cyl needs to displace more fluid per stroke to be an effective upgrade

Do you need to change the brake flexis too?
I'm looking at doing this next year, and have Goodrich hoses at the moment, which I'd like to keep
Its either this or the Porsche 986 set up
But I want to find about the hoses before I commit

Will this master cylinder be a straight swap? And improve the pedal feel, when running brembos up front and 540i rears?

If you fit a bigger ms because of larger pistons and having to push more fluid does this mean the rears are more likely to lock up quicker because of more fluid being pushed down the lines?
Other way round, the larger m/c area creates lower line pressure for a given pedal force, the clamping force on the pads might be recovered at the front caliper with larger pistons (depending on the actual piston sizes) but the rears don't so you get a bias shift to the front.Jozi wrote:If you fit a bigger ms because of larger pistons and having to push more fluid does this mean the rears are more likely to lock up quicker because of more fluid being pushed down the lines?

He said Hartges
I have the same problem, want to fit my Alpinas but the fronts need redesigning, new bracket/caliper and smaller disc. Rumour has it you need a 308mm disc to go under the Alpina wheel
Loads of pics in my thread, linked above
