Those part diagrams seem to show 3 different methods of doing it though and it's years since I've taken one off. From what I can remember I don't think you can slide a nut in anywhere on the end trim so I reckon I need to use on Olof the hex head screws I have, just not sure and washers/spacers.

Starting to look almost finished, still a lot of work to do to get things looking right. Bumpers are really bugging my as I just can't get them sitting correctly, plus numerous other little I need to buy to get things fitted correctly. Got brand new fog lights ready to fit as well. Really think I want it lower as well, its' already on 40mm Eibachs, E90 top hats up front and the thinnest spring pads on the back and I really thought it'd sit lower than it does.

Have done 100 miles now, still coming across a few little snags. Engine still seems a tad too tappety and is over fueling quite a bit, suppose the fueling could be due to the engine mods and an unknown chip being fitted. Keep getting some knocking under braking on the off side front as well, thought I'd sorted it earlier as the caliper mount to the strut needed 1/4 turn but it's comeback again, only not so bad.

Load the boot up Dave, I did it with mine and it dropped about 20mm on the Faulkner springs Dezzy got made up.

Once I'm sure I've sussed out the knocking from the brakes I'll get some weight in it and get a load more miles on it to see how it settles down. Was wondering what springs you had on yours Dan, although I thought yours was lower than it is.

I'm sure these will bed in fine, certainly won't be changing them until it's had a summers running on them.

Bronze beats Green on these early turds, one of my best finds was the original popout dechrome bronze tinted rear 1/4s, never thought I'd get them.

All tech 1 sports without A/C had them should you ever need a replacement.

Bronze tint fitted to all non A/C cars (Green tint on cars with factory A/C) up to sept '87 then with the advent of the facelift plastic bumper saloons in sept '87, green tint for all E30's.

As far as I know mine rear 1/4s car from one of those shadow line 320i's. I've had a couple of tech 1 sports and both had green glass, neither had factory fit AC, one had the nasty dealer fit stuff.

I guess It's possible that these early non A/C turds with green glass had the option of Thermo insulated glass which is green tint glass.

Looking good Dave, a lot of work gone into this project well done really

. Smokelights look great and I am not one for aftermarket items, but got the look just right.Be nice to see it on the road next year.

It's on Bilstein B8 shocks and Eibach springs, also using E90 upper spring seats on the front.

They are stiff, but I wouldn't say bone jarringly stiff though, I think they're fine on our very average roads. Obviously avoid potholes (etc) but then I do that in all cars.

Thought I'd drag this back up from the depths of the zone, try and get some motivation to do some jobs done and get it taxed.

Last year nothing really got done with it other than getting driven, that's obviously the main aim but that's lots of little bits to get done that were annoying me, just kept getting too distracted by two wheeled shenanigans. Also had a crap recovery from a double hernia op in June and then consequently aggravated a disc in my back a couple of months later whilst touring Europe on my motorbike has meant it's been parked up since Sept sharing a trickle charger with my bike

Made it a to a few shows last season, the highlight being Retro Rides, despite the afternoon being a wash out.

So plans in the coming weeks are to get a few trim bits tidied up & wire in the VDO gauges. The BBS will get bolted on sometime soon and that much needed mapping session will get booked as soon as it's taxed, and then maybe bring myself to shell out on getting the stereo sorted.
