Wow Glenn this is an awesome project!!
I started building one myself 3 months ago for a racecar over here in Ireland! Cant believe it took me this long to see this project!
Can I pick your brain please about the gearbox? I bought the e90 m3 gearbox also so will have the same release bearing problems. What size of spacer did you use to make it work, and also my box has a gearbox oil cooler pump on it, do you think it would be best to just blank it off?
I'm using the e60 oil filter housing too and never saw it goes on upside down! Class!! that will save me a pile of work! Thanks!
I have cut the bulkhead in my car to allow the engine back as far as possible, cylinder 2 is in line with the front axle now!
this is a great build well done for sticking with it man through all the heartbreak! Cant wait to see the finished project!!
finally got this back on track today.
first job today was to sort out the oil light!.
the engine wouldn't start at first, so i had to re-check the wiring.......all seemed ok.
i eventually found that the injector relay had a crack in its outer casing, so i swapped it over from the one on the engine i had removed, and she fired up staight away, happy days.
YAY! Can't wait to see this all finished, seems like a age and a half since I sold the car to you Glenn lol.

I'd love to pop over and see it, go for a ride ;) It's a far cry to what it was like 3 years ago

they couldn't, it came out of a burnt out m6. the cockpit was completly burntout. there wasn't enough wiring/ews left in the car to start it. so i bought it with the understanding if there was a problem with it, they would look after me.

Just seen this thread and read through the S62 thread also, this was an epic build. Brilliant pictures, excellent fabrication (even the exhaust was special), the problems faced and overall a great thread.
Is the car running now as in the last pictures you have the bonnet on?
had the screens fitted yesterday. re-fitted the 'old' rear screen, and had a new front screen fitted as the old one had a stone chip in it. once the screens were fitted, it meant I could give it its first wash in 3 years !.
been doing lots of small things to the car lately, getting it ready for mot.
also bought a vent gauge from http://www.awron.de/hauptnavigation/pro ... aysysteme/
I managed to get it with the latest software installed for the v10, and with the display in English. I struggled to get decent pictures of it though.......
i 'nursed' it to the mot station.......i didn't want any issues before the test.
i just gave it a little blast on the way home, but the arse end squated down and the tyres started to rub the arches, so i just drove it home.....sensibly !
it does feel like it wants to go though
