I've taken the liberty of editing what I think you are trying to say into English.joeadams1979 wrote:Bought an e30 that has been sat for some time. I got it running fine but the diff has got a leak. When I try and do a wheelspin the car just revs a lot and doesn't break traction. I'm sure I'll have to sort the clutch out but is it worth repairing the current leaking diff or replacing it with a known good one?
From the sounds of it, the clutch is your main problem here, however a leaking diff isn't ideal. If it is an LSD it would probably be more economical to repair, however non LSD's can be picked up quite cheap so I would be more inclined to source a known good one rather than fannying around with new seals

Depends which diff. seals are leaking. Output seals are easy; input seal is a bit more complicated.

If it's a Sport, then it should have a LSD (although they've been known to go 'missing' over the years.) If it's never been rebuilt, then the LS part of the diff. is likely to be very worn by now, and in need of a rebuild, as do most second hand ones you may be offered. As part of the rebuild, the seals and input bearing are likely to be replaced anyway.
Gareth on here offers a rebuild service for the zone.
