It's brake pipes I'm thinking of.
You started testing now?

Mine lapsed back in November and we don't test on site at ML so I haven't done a refresher.

But we have got a dedicated tester so I maybe do a maximum of 10 tests a week. So it isn't too bad.

I've just bought a 525ix and would've plumped for one of honest executive "shooting brakes" if I hadn't.

wishbone fun, its very similar to an e30/36 arm? IX arm on the left.
Realoem is telling porkies. States that iX use the same lolipop bush as the e46. Well to my eyes its the same size bush as the e30/36 bushes
I've got these M3 eccentric ones spare so this could spice up the steering levels to a point the 2wd crew with their shagged out steering boxes could only dream of. While i revel in the rack as fitted to these and the 9.6 0-60 time.

I recenlty bought theseZ 4M bushes but they are too big for the lolipop on the iX. Logic was the iX uses according realoem the e46 bush. Which the Z4M ones fit. Shame but these bushes will fit my e46 instead now but does anyone have some spare e46 lolipops with scrap bushes?

these are goosed saggy things fitted to the car.
I need another picture but basically the lolipops look the same to your eyes but they are a touch different. So i need to get some new bushes pressed in.
I could always fit the e36 M3 evo bushes which are concentric? for a bit less hassle as i wouldn't need to get the tracking redone

You're saying you want to use M3 eccentric bushes to improve the handling?
Whatever bushes you use it's always good practice to get the tracking checked/adjusted after any suspension work.

It is, but not on this turd only whats whats needed and whats lying around of use!
I'm saying those stock bushes are shot, they're the same size as e30/36 so i can fit a solid bush from M3s , either the eccentric ones or concentric. Both will help it out alot compared to whats there, question is which ones, hmmmmm eccentric will add castor which will add some feel i guess

If you use the eccentric bushes make sure it doesn't put any strain on the front half shafts.
And from what I've heard of Pete's appetite you'd be better off going to the dealer than buying him scampi.

Still not sure on which wishbone bushes to use, but there has been progress elsewhere on this resurrection

I thought the rear exhaust box was iffy............... but it fell apart literally. The rear silencer was hollow, no baffles left at all!

These heatsheilds are always mullered and hanging off, so a nice bodgetastic effort with some crude steel spacers to hold it in place!

I got this genuine system on the bay, i had to collect but a much better bet than if i'd bought a new cheapie from tyre place or ebay.

it was letting in water here through this rubber grommet, high temp silcone should keep it dry and help get rid of the damp old car smell, noice

major weldings

turned into a quite a serious hole/effort!!

more work, this drivers side has had some serious mig action

The dub man

Looks pretty good a nice repair i think for this turd

I finally had the V5 come in the post so i could get a number plate for the front, but i've gone the whole hog and got this rear one also. My local dealer see it fit that this sh1tbox needs one of their stickers in the rear window

No matter how crap, a decent BMW badge is a must imo
theres some knackered ball joints on the front that need sorting out as another kind of wallet bash, so some serious digging into the world of car parts should mean i've not got to visit the main dealer who want £220 per wishbone and £103 for each inner ball joint! Both inners have split gaiters/boots and play plus the passenger outer ball joint in the arm is kaput.

While your redoubtable dred-locked dub scummer is commendably wearing ear muffs and latex gloves, when operating an angle-grinder, he should really be wearing proper eye goggles and thick gloves. Oh, and tell him to get his hair cut!

Pretty rare: "only 9,366 BMW e34 525iX were made, this model is very rare today."

More work for all you iX perverts out there to chew over!

New inner ball joints lemforder and they came from France! was the cheapest price by far, also i plumped for the e36 m3 evo bushes for the arms

All back together but there is alot of play in the bearing hub area that i don't think the MOT man will like!

new windscreen in, the insurance is only £300 oh to be old and a slow motor eh?

picked this up off ebay for £25 it was collection only and in surrey

Rejoice, these are new never fitted flaps for my OCD interest in them

The dog guard pole was bent? How it happened i don't know, so its straight now all ready to roll

fully mudflapped up goes well with the 4wd theme me thinks and being a wagon/workhorse sh!tter. Proper brickies motor the B3 is too posh really
She drives well, number plate for the front and trims on so it almost looks normal
I've changed the oil and filter, not one noisey tappet its bloody quiet this M50, also a coolant flush it was on slightly rusty water as per
I adjusted the handbrake up on friday night and you guessed it, one of the cables is fucked, i've got one coming from euros for £11
The passenger wishbone is in the post from Germany so along with that and the front bearing its ready! Only 3 jobs to do and it should have a ticket the old heap
I reckon people will stop me in the street and try to buy it.

that car in the link had a snapped front spring!
Plus there was a rare M-tech suspension option that lowered it the usual 20mm that could be fitted to it also
Mine doesn't sit alot different to it to be fair
