1987 Baur 318

Im trying to wire up a radio and have come across four wires all together and are coded like such;

purple/white
red/white
brown
red/green

Now I belive the brown to be earth but can not find a live feed with 12v only one giving out a strange 2.5 v
The analogue clock does not work but I can only find again this 2.5v with the meter.

I`ve looked at different wiring diagrams and can not seem to see these wires and also the speaker wire clours are very different too.
I hot wired my old London radio with another power source ,connected up all four speakers and they all worked fine, even the cassette.lol

Any ideas on the 2.5 volt situation please?

Cheers Mart.

Mart, at a guess, is the 2.5v to do with a permanent live to maintain your radio station settings etc? Terrible to respond to a question with a question, I know........
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Right now Fi I was looking for any live and found this strange voltage so I was rather hoping to find more than one.

The radio loom should come from the accessory socket behind the glove compartment.

The red/green is the permanent 12 volts live, and comes from the same fuse as the clock (#21), so I suggest you replace this fuse. Only a short length of wire between the fuse and the accessories socket, so there's not a lot else it can be.
Purple/white is the switched 12 volts+.
Your red/white is probably actually grey/red, and is panel lights.

Update !!!

The old school "London" is up and operational, the analogue clock is reporting the correct time and as a bonus the rev counter has started to work for the first time since I`ve had her .

Many thanks for all your help.

Cheers, Mart.
