Currently cungering up ideas for how to go about making a pull cable for the doors. Can any one show me what they've done?

I used a cheapo dog lead off of eBay and just cut it to length.

You can just about see it in the top right of the photo.

I guess I wasn't very clear I was after something to use to operate the door catch instead of the handle. Cheers though.

I just used the handle, its very very light!
Or you can use a piece of string, you only need to pull on it.

I've got to ask what is the point? As Demlot says the standard door pulls aren't exactly heavy and your solution is just going to look messy and shit, not to mention encroach in the cabin more than the standard handle.

The only reason I can think of for doing this is because you want to move the handle forwards, for easier reach, otherwise I wouldnt bother

Its not an issue with weight. The inside of the door has been skinned so there is no where to mount the handle and the door cards are fairly thin, not sure how much they'd flex and I don't want to cut a hole in the to find it twists about.ross_jsy wrote:I've got to ask what is the point? Not sure what I'm planning would look shit otherwise I wouldn't plan on doing it.

Sadly not Phil!
The cards came with the doors and are custom only fit made from Aramid for extra safety.
I recently bought a half decent vacuum pump and hope to be making lots of carbon parts in the near future.
First up will be some engine bay parts moving on to a sunroof panel.
