Hi folks, I need some advice, I have s pre face lift 320i that does not have power dteering. My question is, is it possible to fit power steering to my car, and if so, would it be something a relative novice could dodo

You'd need to swap the rack, which isn't a huge ballache but is probably the toughest part of the job. Then you need to add a pump together with its mount and belt, then just plumb in the hoses, including the reservoir.

Simple enough if the car's on jackstands, but you may need to take it to have the tracking done afterwards.

You'll also need the shaft that goes from the end of the steering column to the rack. Shorter on a power set up.
You could, of course, go straight to an E46 rack.

I agree with Brian here...E46 rack is bound to be a lot newer than an E36 rack and pump setup from a breaker yard!
