As i missed the Lakeside meet, i thought i'd post a few pictures of the show i was at this weekend. I feel bloody tired now. It was 2 days of constant polishing and chatting to people. I also did 2 shoots for a cable company, so a really good weekend all in all. As for the show itself, there wasn't that many everyday cars. Most of the cars there were American Hot Rods or dragsters. There was also some really beautiful Polo's and Audi TT from Belgium all riding on airbags (I've got to get me one. They look so cool when you slam your car at a show) Anyway, Enjoy :thumb:

Mods feel free to move to the photo galary if you think it's in the wrong section.

Johnono that me mate. People at these shows think their Ԛ£15 entry fee entitles them to do what they like, but we dont see any of that money. At 1 stage i had 3 kids trying to sit on my fron bumper for a picture. Needless to say, i was far from pleased. Not too late to get a copy of PBMW mate although i'm far from impressed with the photos in it. I think my poictures with my cheap digi camn looks better than what they took.

Undeground Niether Danny nor Roy had a stand this year. They did both turn up for a few hours though. These American cars are so powerful it's unreal. My mates Steves BMW was there. It's running a supercharger and Noz, plus loads of work bu CA-Automotive and his power chart was showing 320bhp, yet any owner of one of the American cars i spoke to was running way above 600bhp.

Ben,

I was looking at your PBMW piccies the other day, and was wondering what strut brace you have. The article said it was from CA, but did not say what brand. It that one of the Weichers ones ?

Cheers,

Ian.

Demlot, a slimline PS2 is next on my shopping list mate. I'm going for the silver one. I've got tha fat one in the car for the meantime.

Ian, I'm not too sure what the name of the brace is mate. I just told Roy at CA to get me a brace and that's what he came up with. I will ask him the name and let you know later, but i think he has them on his website. www.ca-automotive.co.uk

Underground, I'm undecided about the hardtop. I love it with the hardtop on and the system sounds proper fat, but then when the sun is out, i love whipping it off and going for a balst around town. Some people are amazed when you take the hartop off because it looks like a coup with the top on. That's why i prefer the classic lines of the original BMW tops to the Wiesman (Spelling) ones. The original for me compliments the lines of the car, whilst the after market ones look after market. I guess it's all down to individual taste at the end of the day. :thumb:

that does look awesome mate. i also think it looks better with hardtop, but every bmw convertible does. but thats in a league of its own. saying that i would take the roof off at every opportunity too. .

i bought the PBMW mag the other day and thought that the pictures they took dont compliment the standard and effort of work that has been put into the car. The pictures u have taken booty look much better. Still no picture could fully live up to seeing it in flesh

Nav this is the point i've been trying to make to people. Everyone who was at the show this weekend that read the feature in PBMW said exactly what you've just said. The guy who took the pictures was meant to be one of the best in the business and perhaps it wasn't his fault as he wasn't the one that selected the pictures for the mag, but i was not impressed at all. Still it's done now so no point in crying over spilt milk. Lets hope Max P do a better job in their issue out anytime now. :thumb:

They get you a lot more involved in their shoot than PBMW. They also mounted a triopd on their car so that they can take some moving shoots of the car. At the end of the day though, you could have hundreds of nice pictures as in the case with PBMW, but it all comes down to the taste of the person choosing the pictures so fingers crossed.

Max P should be out anyday now. Didn't realise you knew Danny Nav. I think people see my car and they think we just slapped on a bit of paint, a new interior and a new engine and that was it because i said it was all done in only a few months, but there was many a tear shed on that car. It went back to bare shell and i mean bare shell. Most of the kit came off and was replaced by Danny who also flushed the side indicator holes, then the whole interior came out including the dash. The engine came out next, then the rubbers and seals, suspension and anything else that could be taken off, then it went for a complete bare metal respray. It came back the 1st time and the doors, bonnet and boot didnt match the rest of the car, so it went back again, but this time to J & J Autos who i knew would do a great job cause their sprayer use to work for TVR. I wanted the car to dry natrually so it was parked up in my mates garage for 3 months after that before we began the slow process of putting the car back together. I remember 1 day we spent the entire day just putting the 2 front windows in because all the rubbers were new they wouldn't go in properly, then there was laying the cables and wires for 5 screens to work independantly of each other, 2 amps, 4 speakers, 8 twittes, 2 subs. Ho then we moved on to the interior which was too small to fit in the cabin to start with, but after getting everything re-leathered it was an even tighter squeeze. That took 2 days and at one point i nearly cried cause i thought we wouldnt be able to do it. I think you get the picture now, so i'll stop going on  , but that's why i wasn't too happy with the PBMW feature. I just didn't think they captured the colour of the car or give any credit to all the people who worked so hard on the car, but i guess at the end of the day i've got my car featured in 2 WORLD WIDE mags, so it's something to be proud off. My mate texed me from Sweden yesterday and said he's just seen the Sweedish version of PBMW and everyone was going on about the car, so i guess i should be happy.

As for seeing the car in the flesh, i'm up for most of the meets around the London Essex area, so i'm sure you will see it sooner or later mate :thumb:
