When I stripped the 325 to build my Marlin Sportster I found one of the rear springs was broken - in fact about half a coil was missing from the top. My 318is now seems to have developed a list to one side - I suspect the same problem.

Are broken rear springs common on the E30?

Cheers

I had a broken spring on the E30 Touring I broke for my Sportster.

Also my E46 Coupe has had two broken rear springs as well! Seems to be a common BMW thing. I've replaced the OE springs in my Coupe with Eibach ones. We shall see how long they last.
