If you've swapped the SI batteries with known good ones, and you're absolutely sure the black wire is giving a clean signal from the ECU to the clock, then either your clock itself is broken or your engine isn't actually turning.

thanks for that I understand what you have wrote,i suffer from dislexier .its hard to understand and red some stuff ,I have tried the site but some stuff wont come up I don't think I have the right hard where,i will have another go tomorrow I think the signal is trying to get through that's why the needle was jumping ,thanks again, rick
