ECP and GSF do them both for just over Ԛ£40, just over Ԛ£30 for the dizzy and Ԛ£10 for the rotor arm.

Halfords?! 8O

They're about the same price as ECP & GSF, but if you know anyone with a trade card you'll save a decent chunk :wink:

I got a cap for Ԛ£30 in halfords and the rotor arm for Ԛ£10.

You could also try www.motormec.co.uk - genuine parts so will probs be more.

It looked like it had been on the shelf for a very long time and they've not restocked since (about 6 month ago) So Iam guess it was an end of line item.

how did I know there would be an m10 reference in there somewhere :wink: :roll:

you're an m40 boy now, dave (bad impression!)

GSF seem to be about average for the distributor cap/rotorarm, but as brian says, they are long lasting items

m40 = Ԛ£30.71
m30 = Ԛ£34.11

Under Ԛ£4 difference.... Other m30 parts are cheaper than m40.

Just perfecting the body work, then making a start on the suspension/brakes next week end.

Starting to gather parts....

that's a useful post. if you don't like your GSF branch then fine, but why slate the whole chain when you don't know what you're talking about? :roll:

my local ECP is a badly organised place where you normally have to wait at least quarter of an hour to get served. my local GSF is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and if anything overstaffed.

But mine is the opposite!
Always found Euro to be better than GSF...well in London anyway. I think it must be a local thing...and perhaps what you get used to.

My local GSF have been both good & bad, but one time when I really needed 'em and I got there just as they were locking up the manager went back inside and got me my parts. Now that was good of him. I reckon like most places it's all down to the folk in the place, decent folk = decent place.

Thanks for the response guys, been very helpful, i found a guy selling both cap and rotor arm for Ԛ£20 the pair so i snapped em up! if anyones interested PM me and i'll send you his details to get one if he still has em.

Still want to know whats so special about them that they can charge Ԛ£50 a piece?? any ideas/explanations?

My Gsf has been excellent, i used to get stuff for my MK1 golf there all the time, they were always great, they were farnborough (or was it farnham...?) way.
