Guys, money could be a problem after all so my question is:

(For my 325 CAB on standard shocks and springs)

Could i get away with using just the H&R springs with my standard shocks?

What would be the noticible difference in not using the H&R cup setup?

If im using standard shocks,is there a better option than H&R?

I dont mind forking out Ԛ£170 for the springs but i dont want a hard jumpy ride..i need some advice here guys before i purchase these

thks

I have the H&R Sport springs which I got before I upgraded my dampers.

The ride quality was fine with the standard dampers, in fact it was nice. Trouble is it was underdamped a bit so would kind of pogo, not terrible but you'll notice your head lights 'bouncing' at night and the handling will suffer.

You should definately think about at least a budget up-rated damper kit.

The H&R cup kit is supposed to have excellent dampers but lowers the car to a ridiculous degree. Have you ever seen an e30 at 60mm lower? The rear semi trailing arms go to a mental ammount of rear camber and toe.. Probably wears rear tyres like a mofo.

I have the 40mm sports springs and they lower the car as much as is possible useable (from a handling point of view I'd say its a little low but from the looks point of view its perfect). I really wouldn't reccomend going lower. I couldn't get my tracking done the other day because they couldn't get the gauges over the rear wheels.

Try H&R sports springs and Gaz dampers. Good quality units that are cheap and re-buildable..

Isn't there a 35mm H&R kit? Wouldn't that be the best of both worlds?

does it f**k i went from 35mm h&R springs to the cupkit 60/40 springs and the arse end is on the floor and the so is the front. As said the neggy camber is silly on the back and so is the toe.

But the handling well what can i say! but to be honest is not leaps and bounds over the normal 35mm h&R springs. looks better though!

so it is bilstein sport shocks (because there are aswell normal and heavy duty) + H&R springs ?

what about coilover springs over bilstein shocks?

check this out... seems quite cheap... and adjustable...

i have always been told that coilovers are too harsh for road use

plus would you really ever adjust them?

i spose for a road/track car rolled into one coilovers would be ok?

iv seen HnR n Bilstein ones on the wrong side of a grand though!

I'm hoping to upgrade to the inverted M3 billie inserts (which are the same part no as the 325 one I think).

They seem to offer different ones at motorsport world. Whatever - I'll just go for the shortened inverted ones yea?

Is this set up nice for everyday then? Whats the handling balance like? I like the ride quality I have ATM, bit harsh because of the lowered springs and poly bushes all round.

At the moment I have STD M3 front dampers and Koni adjustables on the rear which I can't seem to adjust. Thus the car is VERY tail happy in the wet.

Fun though!
