Impossible to say what damage has been done. It has probably just blown past the gasket and the head will be fine but if it's the result of poor mapping causing detonation/overheating then it could be worse.

8 psi isn't that much, you should be ok on the standard gasket with some ARP's.

Thanks mate , hopefully I will get away with that . What would you recomend head gasket wise just standard or mls ? Would I need a thicker one because I don't think it has had the compression lowered or am I fine to run standard size ?

I'm new to this and am learning as I go along what is detonation ? I have heard it come up a few times the car was rolling roaded only 2 weeks ago would he of heard or known of this ? Is there a way to tell if so how can I get it remapped anyone in the Essex area that could help out with that ?

Detonation is the point in the stroke at which the fuel combusts. It can be either to early or too late.

Under high boost/acceleration it will be at it's worse, it will sound like a plinking or ticking sound. If the dyno operator wasn't an idiot he probably would have picked up on it though.

R.E. the gasket, shoot Gunni a PM. He will be able to give you the best advice. Tell him your full set up and see what he advises
