I have a prefacelift M20B20 and a facelift M40B18. Will this be the correct tool? Or will I need a 16 pin job?

TIA.

You need a short piece of wire, nothing else.

For the sake of a few quid I don't mind buying one of these. Just not sure if I need a 20 or 16 pin one.

Probably both. You can get ones with both sockets on them.

As above, why waste your money when a bit of wire or a paperclip will do?

Thirded.

I reset all my service lights just before it was MOTed as I'd changed everything so it didn't need to say 'SERVICE ME' any more. :D

Doesn't seem to work.

The links or the actual resetting?

If the latter it may well be your SI board batteries need renewing.

The device you linked to is simply the Rube Goldberg version of Cloggy's solution. If you want to pay someone money for that, go ahead.

The actual resetting. I guess I'll have to try replacing the batteries.

Try earthing the the battery instead . Ie pin 7 to battery earth as pin 19 didnt work for me either . Works fine for me , done it twice .
