Depending on how bad, apparently drilling a hole on each side will stop it from spreading. You can then use a flexible filler and it will be half decent.
For best results...get a new dash.

yeah Ive had it out a few times now, easy. i tried flocking it but its so tedious without the professional equipment.

Replace it, or if you want a motorsport look you can fill it then get it flocked.

Flock it yourself using PVA glue and a burst pillow case
Im surprised theres no DIY reasonable fix. My e21s dash looks like a road in the middle east. Its properly fucked. The e30s is mint but dam the 21 needs help ASAP

These last two suggestions are how you SELL an E30 with a cracked dash. The only cure is replacement.
