I have got a 2 door 318i. Im buying a new interior at the weekend both front and rear seats and all 4 door cards. I was wondering if anyone would know, will i be able to fit all these in my car to get it home or will i need a van?

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

That was what i first thought then i realised i aint got nothing to get front seat out with. The rear seats just pull off n click in and out dont they? So taking the seats out before hand is the only way i will fit it all in?pacerpete wrote:Remove your rear seat and passenger front, job jobbed.

So how are you going to fit the 'new' interior' if you cannot remove the old one ?

All you need is a 17mm socket and a ratchet

take the rear bench out and replace with new. If you're not too tall, turn new fronts upside down and sit seat backs into rear footwells, rest of the crap will fit into boot.

the top half of the rear seat has a bracket on either side at the bottom secured with a bolt this is hidden by a bit of overlapping rear quarter card material.you will need a 10mm spanner for this unless they have already been removed and not put back in which is often the case .

Owning an E30 and not having a socket set is a bad combo.

its very simple mate,
have the two socket sizes mentioned above and a flat screwdriver or a spreading knife if your limited on tools
Fronts
use a screw driver/ spreading knife to take off the black caps that cover the nuts on the front seat runners. Then you shall see 4 nuts, you undo them and then lift the seat up and its out
Rears
Take the rear seat base out by giving it a tug, then there should be a bolt on each side to take out the back rest which you undo and then lift the back rest up and then towards you.
No need to take it to a garage as its too easy of a job, can be done under 20mins

door cards are very easy, the sooner you start tinkering the better and more familar you will become, you could easily do it blind without knowing and just finding as you go
a small trim removal tool bar is handy, about £3 to buy
