IIRC there was some sort of conflict between him and spadge.
I never dealt with chris on that level but for me, im sure he is a decent enough person buy his moderating style was as bad as wills
Him and tylerma certainly had it in for me along with some others who banned me for 2 years. I will add for the record it was tylerma who was the main man in handling me my ban.
Shouldn,t you be hard at it selling Fords.
Back to work you lazy coont.

I bought an E30 M3 off Chris a good few years ago now and found him a really decent bloke. I've since bought various parts off him for various other E30's and received nothing but a top class service. I hope his site is up and running again soon.

Chris was the first zoner I met face to face after I joined here - fitted a PAS setup to my bronze turd on a freezing March morning on his driveway - top bloke.
Shame he's not still around IMO

You can express your opinion but you made a personal attack.Kos wrote:Can I not express my opinion ? You dish out when you feel like itSimon13 wrote:So basically everyone knows Chris is a sound guy, but Kos doesn't like him for whatever reasons so lets slur him down![]()

You insulted him and accused him of a vindictive bias...
...and that breaks Rule Number 1 of the forum and yet you seem to get away with it. So the moderation style suits you now?Kos wrote: I thought he was a tosser, he clearly had it in for a few people
OK, if it's just banter then that may be seen as fine, but this isn't. This is clearly a personal attack.
I miss people like Chris on the forum. I dealt with him on several occasions and he was a credit to the zone.
Agreed!B7 wrote:We need more people around like Chris. He was a credit to the zone and an honest, easy guy to deal with. Doubt he'd like all the back biting / stabbing and two faced nonsense that goes on now though to be honest.

Toby, i had one dealing with chris. i rang him up after an incident on the forum to have a chat. i cant remember the ins and outs of the conversation, but what i do remember is him very dismissive of my thoughts & opinions. he didnt like it when i said there was conflict if interest with him trading and being a mod/team member and calling me an idiot.
i dont mind being called an idiot, i've been called worse.
but that single event with him and his moderating style made me think he was a tosser. now, read what i have said. "i thought he was a tosser" its an expression of a past thought. if i said "he is a tosser" then it is is current statement.
in no way shape of form is it a personal attack, just an opinion based on my experiences with him
i remember a time when all the breakers like magpie, adit were all of a sudden tagged with "CAUTION unapproved trader". no PM's no warning, no invitation to pay as a trader.
so, back to the tosser comment. comments like that are posted daily. no wanting to pick on anyone in particular but this was said the other day
no one got banned........... no one should be banned for that either. its all opinions and with out them any forum is wasted and boring
does the current moderating style suit me, not always but 90% is fine. i know i will not get on with every one, i know some people hate me, some people dont want to publicly associate with me (then again who want to be associated with a depraved individual like me) i also have some very close friends through this forum. however (for the benefit of malcom) we dont bum each other, we just wife/girlfriend swap and go dogging and get involved in other depraved sexual activity

There are many people not satisfied with the moderation of the forum. We have all relatively recently agreed to the rules at the login stage and yet they don't seem to exist.
Kos, I agree that there are lots of insults on the zone. I'm not singling you out by the way.
I disagree that calling someone 'a tosser' isn't a personal attack. It is an insult.
(It's not a very offensive swear word or anything like that but it's still an attack.)
An opinion expressed in a defamatory fashion is a personal attack.
The opinion is held and then expressed as an attack.
It's blatantly obvious.
I just want the forum to be a friendlier place and these sort of attacks aren't necessary.
I think these personal attacks are boring, very boring. Keyboard warriors just aren't interesting.
People who are doing interesting stuff to their cars aren't sharing it because there are too many potential insults waiting to be thrown. This is also blatantly obvious!
I'm not the only one who thinks there is too much back biting / stabbing etc. on the zone.
Rule 1. states no personal attacks. Now either this is a rule or it isn't.
It also states 'Feel free to criticise ideas, but not people.' But to say the guy was 'a tosser' and say that 'he clearly had it in for a few people' is a direct accusation against the guy. You are stating that the guy was unfair to others. This is a direct personal attack.
Either there are rules or there aren't rules.

The rules seem to be completely ignored except when a member or members of the team decide to get rid of someone they dislike, usually for some ridiculously petty reason. Then the rules are iron and unbending.toby wrote:Either there are rules or there aren't rules.

Certainly seems to me that some zoner's can get away with writing just what they like and receive 'protection' from the 'team'.snakebrain wrote:The rules seem to be completely ignored except when a member or members of the team decide to get rid of someone they dislike, usually for some ridiculously petty reason. Others receive a ban....
The rules are clear,so why can they not be applied in a fair way to all?

I stumbled on his site by accident a while back, emailed him and got no answer. I eventually called his number from here and he checked the message i sent, gave me instructions on how to pay and i got a very good working jetronic ecu , ignition switch, clock and boot locks from him. Great guy to deal with , didnt know he was still around . I checked his website a few times but didnt find anything else i needed.
