i rang bmw and ordered in a new oil pump for my 525e but on looking further (real oem) i have found that the housing and the mechanical parts are sold seperately? is this true? as i am hoping this will be in from england tommorrow and would be a big hold up if its the wrong part!! i know my hoiusing is in good nick - i was just being cautious thinking better change the old pump and now it looks klike i might have made what they call a " doo doo". ....

Assumuing all M20 pumps are pretty much the same, the complete assembly should be about Ԛ£90 from the dealers if that's any help?
Might be an idea to order a new pencil drive too. No idea if the BMW ones habitually break, but they seem to on other cars and for the Ԛ£3 or Ԛ£4 they cost....

All the M20 oil pumps I've seen are identical, I got mine from GSF for about Ԛ£45 (Febi)Turbo-Brown wrote:Assumuing all M20 pumps are pretty much the same, the complete assembly should be about Ԛ£90 from the dealers if that's any help?

I'd replace the drive shaft too, they wear on the corners of the hex drive and look like they could round off.
