Hi I was looking at painting my outer sills to make them look better, where they have the black anti stonechip stuff or whatever it is. What do I use to paint over them hammerite? Or something else?

thanks

3M Stonechip paint or the equivalent is what the professionals would use.

This!!

Plus if it were me, i'd sort out any rust issues if present, prep the area and use stonechip as suggested for that factory look finish. i have found its best applied using the proper spray applicator and a decent air compresser, you wont be disapointed with the finish if done with care.

You can buy the 3M stuff in aerosols if you want to do it yourself and don't have spray equipment.

Hammerite also do a version:

And there is Body Schutz:

The a body shop won't charge much for just the black sills done properly , 80 maybe, for what it would cost to buy materials and the time and aggro you'd be better off paying a pro

Don't even consider ever using this sh*te on an E30! Nothing says bodged up, bridge dodging old banger better than a coating of this stuff.

BMW do a stone chip as well in tins, it sprays on very light though. 2x 500ml tins will prob do a cill, you might get away with 3 tins.
