welcome to the zone ! looks nice ! old red paint can fade, but a bit of work and polishing and detailing can have it come up nice, maybe look for a professional, look through the 1st couple of pages of the photo gallery section youl find a thread someone paid £150 for a professional job, the results look fantastic, well worth the money !
things to check, maybe when the timing chain was last changed, and give it a thorough service for peace of mind and get it running tip top, cleaning the icv, inlet, throttle assembly and ajust cable, with carb cleaner, is a good thing to do ! oil+filter, fuel filter, pas and brake fluid, diff and gear box oil, coolant flush, would all be well worth doing and get the car tip top, then you will know its all been done, make a note of milage and date in the history or service book, and can start your own servicing schedule from there !!
and give the car a good check over for rust, leaks, check things like the jacking points, clean all the arches behind and remove any crud
also- get down on the floor, feel along the bottom of the sills along the INSIDE of the lip along the bottom, feel along that lip very carefuly, youl feel some "slots" that sort of stick out but only slightly, these are the sill drainage holes, very important to clean them out, theres 4 or 5 on each sill- clean in there with something like a real thin tiny screew driver or bit of wire coat hanger etc - just slide it in the drainage slits and wiggle about etc make sure they are all clear of any crud
