I've a big problem with my touring's glass fogging up when it's raining. I know this usually suggests moisture inside the car but I can't find any wet areas anywhere. Can someone recommend a good product that will deal with this, there's a lot to choose from! Cheers.

Rain X - rain repellent and anti fog. Both awesome products IMO.

Check your passenger footwell carpet (under the mat if you have one) and feel around behind the centre console. Condensation in my touring was the first sign of what turned out to be a failed heater matrix valve. I couldn't find any leaks or water, but the carpets hold an incredible amount of liquid before they feel anything more than a bit clammy.
Eventually I found the heater matrix valve was leaking just enough to make a drop on the lowest part of the plastic which you could feel when you touched it.
Mine was sorted with a good second hand valve and a couple of hours labour.

As Morat says, your problem is an indication of a deeper problem. E30s have an exceptionally well designed ventilation system, and there shouldn't be any problem with misting windows.

no water in the boot then bud? mine did that until i replaced the light gaskets on the rear. there was the smallest amount of water collecting in the left hand pocket but it was enough to mist the rear window up.

its water in the car somewhere mate
lift up the rear footwell carpets, feel underneath and see if the foam is damp/wet , and check the big round bungs in the floorpan if any moisture there , when they start to go they can let water/damp in, which is slowly absorbed by the foam
check the inner arches behind rear door cards- a hole in there would let water spray in
and remove all boot carpets and have a good look for damp
......
on another note- i recently tried autoglym glass polish, f**k me its wonderful stuff, gives a real nice shine and clarity to the glass, and it lasts ,and makes abig difference in it misting up and keeping clean, excelletn on outide of the windows too, very highly recomended stuff

It's got to be something else, my touring doesn't mist up even when one of the rear cubbies has 3 inches of water in it! Vapour is what you're looking for...

My Sport had terrible condensation, removed the carpets and was soaking wet on the passenger side, turned out to be rotten under fuse box, had this all welded up and put carpet back in once dry and problem cured

I'm at a loss
. I can't find the source of this damn condensation. The boot space is pretty much bone dry apart from the slight damp in the storage compartment. The front footwells are dry and there's no sign of any water coming from the heater matrix and I know the bulkhead's solid. Where/what else to check??

Sweaty heater matrix or valve? May not cause wet carpets but if it's starting to sweat (leak) then as it gets hot, theres your vapour.

Ed, your car has factory air con right?
Check that the 3 evaporater drains are not blocked. If you have been using the air con, especially to demist the condensation then water will be building up indside the evaporater and condensation will rise up through the dash top vents causing the misting.

Another good product is Wurth Active Glass Cleaner. Expensive, and not technically a polish, but by god it cleans windows well.polsta wrote: ......

Much easier to use than a normal polish as well.

It does have factory AC but I haven't used it for any prolonged period for a while, and probably not since the misting problem started. The evaporater is the drier, yes?bss325i wrote:Ed, your car has factory air con right?

No the evaporator is the part that air is blown through to make the air cold. Its in the heater box and condensation builds up on it which is why there are drains in the bottom of the heater box.
The drier/receiver is the bottle that goes behind the head light on the RH side inner wing.
