Impressive work, but I hope that isn't a hairline crack in that valve seat, towards the top right:

Only a small update to keep you happy.
Firstly, all new chain guides fitted yesterday,

New thrust bearing and shells fitted, dropped the crank in and tightened up the bolts.
For some reason, there was quite alot of end float which was a bit baffling, as everything was measured by using a micrometer
.
So off came the crank again, the old thrust bearing installed, and then everything reinstalled again, this was to check the origional end float on the crank, cam to 0.005th
So, vice versa, new one installed, and for some reason, don't ask, there was reduced crank end float to about 0.002th, so checked and rechecked, phoned a few guys on the Zone to make sure and all is now ok.

Loads of heat, and a 3/4 Snap On impact Gun, still took about 10 minutes though.
That was lucky.
Nest time I will leave the flywheel on
it'll help lock up the crank

cheers mate. i've just picked up a B35 nice head and a shrick cam, so sending the whole lot off to Corry's to be re-furbed, i'll put some pics up when i get back. Still keep thinking about that B2B for sale on here but just can't justify the £££.

Had a little time to spare today, so got on with putting the pistons back in.
Oil'd up the bores, and put in all the pistons one by one.
The block was then turned over, new shells fitted and the rest fitted and torqued up as needed.

Decided to take the Oil pump apart and give it a clean before refitting.

And fitted.

No but ive been tempted to, Alpina valves are 1mm bigger also the chambers are Hemi style (but mahle pistons to match). This is why i mentioned Kos had a B10 bottom end with the M5 rods etc...
In your shoes id get it running N/A with the ITB's on to see what its like, then boost later when your bored with the power.
It will be plenty quick enough as it is with the mods you have done.
Tuned M30 FTW.

Kos's bottom end
was a thought when you mentioned it, but i'm on a budget
I'm going to run it on the ITB's first, to run the engine in for 500 miles or so, then it's getting boosted if I have funds, hopefully sooner than later.
I would like to see the Hemi chambers of the Alpina head though.
Any links you can think of Lee?

This is the next Head mod.
To match the head inlet ports to the Adaptors for the ITB's
