Seems Legit to be honest, if someone was to take this path then I would suggest buying one of fleebay that matches your model, follow this procedure with extreme caution then test it on the car.
That way its not a big loss and who knows what would happen

if you were to do that & your old one still works then when you test the "new" one out on the road then take your old one with you just in caseTanveer wrote:Seems Legit to be honest, if someone was to take this path then I would suggest buying one of fleebay that matches your model, follow this procedure with extreme caution then test it on the car.

You just know someone would follow that guide, leave the old unit at home then when the cut's out & dies that a "help my cars died on me & i'm miles from anywhere" type thread would appear lol.

Nothing new or revolutionary in this. This is the tried and tested way of rejuvenating faulty AFMs, has been detailed on here in many threads over the years, and is possibly described in the wiki.
He certainly gets good value from his test meters. I recognise that model as one that I had about twenty years ago - long since confined to the bin!

So it would be worth it then?
As with the electronics using a cloth to wipe over the dirty areas would that not cause any static or should it be safe enough to go about it like how it is in the link?
Just wondering as some people think you shouldnt touch electronic mother boards and other types of open electrics with cloths, just wondering if the same would apply..if not might give it a go lol.

Depends if yours is faulty. If it isn't, then leave well alone.
