Hi guys,
Replacing my tie rod end on driver's side as there's play in the ball joint. Removed the clamp which clamps it into the inner tie rod, but cannot for the life of me remove the damn outer rod. I've got a 17mm spanner on the inner rod across the flats provided, and positioned such that the spanner is pressing down onto the wishbone as I put a massive load of leverage on the outer rod. And nothing happens; apart from the spanner slipping off! I'm assuming normal right hand thread?!

You can heat the area where the clamp sits with a blow torch, this should get it free, did this on my e30 a couple of weeks ago when I adjusted the tracking.

used a big bit of pipe courtesy of an old JD-bug scooter in the end, that got it moving!

Mine were seized on and kept slipping off last year so I used a grinder to make the sides more flat and used a small sized spanner on it.
Whole tie rod is about £47 from Euro's or £25 if you can get it from Meatballs on here
