Do the M43 engines suffer the same worn cam/tappy top end problems as our beloved M40s?
Cheers

No because they have roller rockers.jmc330i wrote:Do the M43 engines suffer the same worn cam/tappy top end problems as our beloved M40s?

I have never ever heard of one with a worn cam.
Other than the odd headgasket or water temperature problem ( thermostat and failed viscous ) seem to be virtually indestructible.
If its tapping, make sure the spark plugs are done up properly

Thanks guys
Are there any preferred versions? I expect the 1.6 to be avoided, but are there pros or cons between the 1.8 and 1.9?
Cheers
