Hi guys. i understand that there is a difference in the door windows of pre facelift and facelift cars. in my case i have a coupe. i have replaced the window however the two sliders that the window sits in are out of alignment. i was wondering if it was the fault of the window, or i just need to adjust/calibrate it?
all help will be much appreciated guys
cheers

I think there are differences between pre and post facelift cars as well as manual and electric variants too

facelift and pre faclift are different and can not be swapped unless you change the mch as well, the shape of the glass at the bottom is different

It's not just the shape of the glass that's different, but the colour is as well. Pre facelift stuff usually has brown glass, whereas the facelift stuff is usually tinted green.
The mechanism change over happened a month or so after the facelift cars were introduced - early facelifted cars have the early mechanism, with the earlier shaped glass, but usually tinted green rather than brown.
Only a sample of one, but I once fitted the later type mechanism and glass to a door that was originally fitted with the earlier mechanism and glass, with no problems that I can recall.

I have facelift motors and pre-facelift glass in my car, you need to drill one hole in the door to fit the facelift motors, to fit the pre-facelift glass you have to bond facelift runners to them

i think i might make a adapting plate to bolt onto the right hand runner to drop the level of it by a couple of inches. think the only problem I'll face would be the window not winding down all the way but i can live with that for now
