I've never heard of welded diffs shaking things to death!

could get through tyres in a week just driving about if ur a coont ! even a couple of hours lolGrrrmachine wrote:Dunno. Will you like replacing your rear tyres every six months?

dont take this as an argument but have you driven a welded daily? , as from friends an my experiance what you have just said never happens , only a little bit of backlash at very low speed turning but that dont smoke up tyres;)cecotto479 wrote:If it's a road car, how do you propose to undertake low speed tight turns? Wheels spinning and smoking no doubt?

your talking a load of shit, only cheapskate peasants use a welded diff, save up and Buy an LSD,Gibson wrote:Ive had welders on my dailys for over 3 years now. They are NOT illegal for road use. and are NOT dangerous, if anything they give the car more predictable characteristics if the back end steps out. Instead of throwing you back out the other way like an open diff when it grips they step back in progessively.
Yes you get a bit of skipping in car parks etc and this well wear rear bushes quicker. But it really makes very little difference.
