Hey :)

how many turns are your idle screw adjusted out?
I can only get my bmw to stand idle at 900 rpm, not lower? and my idle screw is adjusted only a turn out (that is screwed to the bottom and a turn out)

I take it you are talking about the Air Flow Meter. The only way to set this accuratly is via a gas analyser.

In Europe,we refer to this as an ICV,or idle control valve,no doubt in the land that refers to gloveboxes as cubbies,it has a completely different name!

Its not an Idle control valve, it prevents the throttle snapping shut. By operating when a large depression is felt in the manifold when the engine revs drop and the depression reduces it moves away from the throttle control arm.

I would ditch that air filter first and put a standard one on.

900 rpm idle speed is about right on an L-Jet 320i.

I have standard filter on it, the picture was only to show the idle screw

Okay, thanks, the idling speed is different depending on which model it is?

It hits only the arm when the engine is off

My Haynes manual states idle speed for L-Jet is 700-800rpm.

The idle speed adjuster is located in the air bypass, on the opposite side of the throttle body.

Ok, that is working.

Is you throttle stop screw adjusted properly? The butterfly should only just be clear of the body when set correctly (paper thickness gap).
Yes the throttle stop screw is correct adjusted
