Keri, for God's sake when are building a damn 305 mm, 4 pot kit for the M3 to be fitted under BBS 16' (extra 7mm thick bells - 14mm total) like the AP kit from BG developments??

We don't have a caliper that will sit at 305mm on the M3 (5 stud BMW stuff all has lugs that get in the way!), we have designed a radial mount one to clear cars like this but it's not in production yet.
If it was simply a case of design brackets and bells we'd have done it ages ago!

does this mean the 280mm kit has less braking torque than stock (37.7 vs 38.9)?keri-WMS wrote:
I've been working on bias a bit recently, ONLY as a simplified "brake setup vs brake setup" comparison, not an overall car study - so this ignores everything other than the caliper/pad/disc.
Here are four examples, interesting results I thought!

...fitted with 298.5mm disc / 1.25" piston WMS kit:
...fitted with 280mm disc / 1.38" piston WMS kit, this is the earlier spec and is still available for people wanting more front bias inside the 15" BBS (due to running semi-slicks for instance):

The aim isn't to increase torque because that could upset the brake balance - BUT if you do want more front bias simply opt for the 1.38" piston size, that gives you a number of 45.9 as shown in the last table you quoted. Hope that makes sense!

i would have though more torque and then bias adjust would be the go, depending on suspension/tyres the stock bias may not be ideal. I realise there is more thermal mass to reduce fade etc but my hate is the pedal feel and the lack lustre initial response. How much difference is a stiffer caliper and braided lines gonna make?keri-WMS wrote:The aim isn't to increase torque because that could upset the brake balance - BUT if you do want more front bias simply opt for the 1.38" piston size, that gives you a number of 45.9 as shown in the last table you quoted. hi keri, can you pm me a price on a front brake set up, using your 298mm kit for my e30 and brake pads, i have a 2.0ltr turbo engine fitted and is only for road use, im running 16" wheels with a 21mm offset and have a pedalbox fitted so can adjust the bias, dont need the brake lines as will need to get custom one made anyway, many thanks.

I've not got the specs for the 735i m/c, but our kits are designed to work the OEM-fit one. You can probably use the 735i one but there's no reason to!reggid wrote:what about the 735i M/C is this recommend with one of the kits? i understand it might also adjust the bias but i am not sure whether towards the front or rear

I've updated the wheel vs WMS brakes list in post #1, I've found that for those with a spacer fetish you CAN fit the 298.5x24mm kit behind the 15" BBS (tested on the FPS casting version), but you need 20mm minimum and really 21/22mm.
So if that's your thing, it will fit! Here's the profile in the wheel, with a "20mm" spacer:

Sweeet!
I thought I'd mention that this is possible with a spacer as a it turned out a competitor was saying their kit "fits under the BBS" - but needed a huge spacer which is far from obvious!
So the point is that if you are happy to run spacers (so a like-for-like comparison) we out spec them in terms of what's possible so I thought I'd make that clear.

Dan, you used these before? Any good?
To the OP, i had wilwood midlites, 4 pots, 310mm discs before and they were immense. Need something to rival these.
Will be running 17's so big discs not an issue.
Could you price me the biggest discs, calipers and hoses please and also some race pad but i'll take your advice on those. I'm a serious nurburgring tripper by the way and the last of the late brakers so bear that in mind on pad choice please. Ta

Hi, the nearest WMS kit to the one you had is the 298.5mm 4P028, see post 1 for prices (I'll also drop you a PM).tomislav wrote:To the OP, i had wilwood midlites, 4 pots, 310mm discs before and they were immense. Need something to rival these.

In terms of pads I would say DS2500 based on their feedback, or if it's race ONLY I have a few types of Hawk full race pad on the shelf.
If you have a look at post 1 there's also a printable PDF for each kit you can use to test wheel clearance.
PM to follow!

Do you mean what is included? The basic "kit" is:Click_Here wrote:Whats with 2-pot 290mm rear breake kit? Price?
- Calipers
- Discs
- Caliper mounting brackets and bolts / nuts etc
The parts available separately are:
- Pads
- Lines
Price depends partly on how we go about making the next rear batch, but probably in the region of £425.00+vat (+/- 10% ish)
