The 2 wires going to the sensor have been cut and joined together in the engine bay but the darned sensor light won't extinguish. The car originally had drums to the rear - so no sensor there. Short of removing the bulb from the binnacle is there any way to make it turn off ? ('89 320i)
Thanks.

The wiring for the pad sensors still goes to the back of the car, even if it did have drums. The fuel pump/level sender plug on the rear seat pan has a loop of wire on it, simulating the rear pad sensor.

Had a similar fault many years ago but was intermitant. In the end it turned out to be a dry joint on the pcb in the instrument panel on the dash. Resoldered it and it never came back.
