Very minor update, shell is more or less rust free,
Electrox to be applied to bare underside but all holes welded up, sills, battery tray, arches etc all solid, hoping to get to see it at some point this month with pictures to follow...
Not got much love for this atm but i was always in it for the long haul,

Complete S14B25,
Totally stock to start with a further view to a carbon airbox later down the line...
Though at this rate it's going to be decades!

Just stumbled across this.. didn't read everything. Crazy project! What's the story behind the car? Who the hell lets a M3 rot away in a backyard?

Former schnitzer car that had a smack, a bit of the back end replaced and put back on the road with IS running gear prior to being laid up in the thornbush...korky1318 wrote:Just stumbled across this.. didn't read everything. Needless to say that originality is now not a massive issue with the rebuild/resto

Still no engine/box/zaust/diff,
OEM 5 lug gear is all there, i'm probably about 2k away from having a painted shell back at the house for building up if i so choose, might tart up the tech 1 and flog it to raise some capital...

have the dollar, just don't want to spend it as it's been a while since i had anything resembling savings,
Regardless of anything else the S14 and associated gubbing is going to be serious £££!
Still, at least it's moving in the right direction, a millimeter at a time...

Went to see the car on Saturday,
Now LHD again, The floor is sealed and stone-chipped,
Question, Satin black in the arches and the rest of the underside red or whole of the underside including the arches red?

Black under arches and underside or the OEM underside seams to be cream on mine?

Standard underbody protection colour dude, I have the option to spray the underside once its painted in a very high spec protectant so in theory it'll stay clean.
I'm just not sure how i'd feel about seeing body colour behind the wheels in the arches as opposed to the standard black/shade of grime if you catch my drift?

Red cars and some other colours such as white had black painted in the wheel arches only over the body colour.
The black often rubs of to reveal body colour.
The beige/cream is the colour of the under body sealer and has a lot of body colour over spray.
What's annoying is that the cream/beige colour sealer is not available and comes in grey.

Thanks Guys,
On that basis i'd say i'm likely to go with satin black in the rear arches following the natural lower line as far as the box section. The rest of the underside will be brilliant red.
Should be able to post some pictures on Sunday
