Time it took to do the engine conversion? You could do the whole thing in a day - engine out and in! However if something needs changing (which it will - exhaust manifold bolts come to mind) factor this in.

Just take your time - It took me several long weekends (due to work) to do it properly and I still had little niggles getting it to run - Nice feeling when it all worked though.

Cost? Again depends what you want to do to it?

Just engine swap 318i out 325i in.

So I need all these bits?

Engine + Gearbox
Engine Loom (Read Brian Moore's write up first)
Diff
Rad
Prop
Exhaust
ECU
2.5 Coding Plug for Speedo

Cheers

Yes - All these bit are out of your other 325i cab.

Other things you might need when finished - Bracket for the airbox and fuses. Also a bracket for the coolant bottle. I fabricated my own though.

Go for it - It is a plug and play job. Just read this first - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ring+brian

Oh and one last thing - Swop the front springs over as well. The 1.8 springs won't take the weight of the m20 engine. Or buy eibach pro kit suspension like me - they are fantastic!

Fitted these as well :D

And exhaust. Scorpion Back box and Middle section. - As I don't use it that often I can get used to the noise!

Image

Also decided to try the 'smoked' effect on a spare set of lights I had. I used a baking tray! Not bad for a first attempt but will try again and get the cross-hairs spot on next time. I'm not sure about them at the moment but have a clear set that I can always put back.

I borrowed these old snips from a neighbour who worked on trains years ago! They did the job!

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
