So I have decided to put together a group buy for VEMS
This is by FAR the best ever deal for a standalone ecu in terms bang for the buck.

This entails the following

1x VEMS ecu with 1x EGT input, 1x 36pin connector and pins, 1x 18pin connector and pins, 1x Bosch wideband sensor and wiring, 1x air temp sensor, 1 x EGT sensor

The ecu comes with a 300kpa map sensor good for 1.8bar boost. This makes the ecu as a whole perfect for any tuning on

M10, M20, M30, M42, M40, M50, M52, M54, S50B30,

S50B32 (more work needed for this one to enable double vanos)

If you have a NA engine this is the ideal solution just as for a supercharged or turbocharged engine.

This group buy ends 11th of March. All payments must be in by 10th.

For this group buy to work at the price I´ve quated we need at least 7 participants.

Here you can get the latest version of Vemstune
http://www.vems.hu/download/VemsTune/NI ... -01-30.exe

Here is a base map you can play with
http://www.vems.hu/files/M50Turbo/Baseline.vemscfg

Here are some instructional videos for the software

In the pics below you can see how I have tailored VEMStune to suit my tuning needs.

For more information about support for VEMS you can visit the http://www.vemssupport.com/forum

I have personally run a VEMS on loads of M20 turbos, M50 turbo, S50B32 turbo, S50B30 turbo, M30 Turbo, 2JZ-GTE in a Lexus, 2JZ in a Supra, Zetecs, RB25, SR20, RB26 and the list goes on ..

The ecu does not require any cost to enable any features.
Such as

Launch control
Boost by speed/Gear
Flatshifting
Antilag (If you rally)
Alpha-N or MAP sensor based
All of the safety features
Wheel speed input

What you DO NOT NEED TO BUY ALSO like with some ecu´s

Ignition amplifier/s (cirka 70quid)
Wideband controller (easily 150quid)
EGT amplifier (40quid I´d guess)
With great challenges comes great engineering.

What is the regular price on this?

Can it be taken anywhere for mapping or mainly DIY? Any base maps available?

How would you say it compared to say Emerald/Omex/MBE setups (obviously price comparable)?

Usually this would be in the order of 750.

It can be taken anywhere and a base map always comes with it.

How it compares to other systems comes down to the ability of your tuner. It has no less features then the other ones.

VEMS is about as good as an ECU setup gets this side of £1500+ the issue was always the software, now finally sorted

MBE is not really suitable IMHO.....

So you either get handy with a laptop and map this yourself or load the base map then drive to someone like ant to map it?

Is that roughly right?

I'm just scared by this sort of stuff but should probably not be!

You load the base map and only minor adjustments will make it run. Or you take it to somebody to map, anybody.

I will have a VEMS reply thread where I give support directly to anybody who´s bought a VEMS.

This might be a stupid question! Does this vems Ecu work with the original BMW Ecu or replace it completely ? I was looking at the installation instructions on the vems website and was confused by one of the earth wiring diagrams as it has manufacturer ecu earth wires, any help would be smashing

It will totally replace the original ecu. Expect better drivability overall.

So I was just testing the launch control feature.

Depending on what people want it can also be used as a traction control feature with independent traction allowance between gears.

N2O feature works easy enough
It´s possible work around some things and create a water injection feature dependent on TPS, Boost and clt and or air temp.

All kinds of ways to make good use of the ecu apart from making it run your engine better then your motronic EVER could.

So everything is officially set for the group buy to go along as we have 7 people ecu´s now.

I have basemaps for

M42,M50,M30, M20,S50B30, S50B32 and very soon M60. As well a whole bunch of other non BMW engines(SR20, RB25, RB26, CA18,2JZ...............)
So if anybody has a friend outside of the forum who might want to participate then show him what the group buy is about and what bang for the buck it really is.

Will you be doing more group buys in the future if there is enough interest at a later date?

Around the same time next year. Unless there is explicit group interest.

The basemap contains all settings for everything. I will even load it before it gets shipped out for everybody and adjust it to your spec(injector wise, ignition wise). You then wire the ecu according to the base map settings.

I will be needing everybodies engine codes eventually so I can order the correct ecu, some M50´s have Hall effect sensors and some dont. so this needs to be clear. For M20´s no need or most single cam bmw engines.

If you are unsure a picture of the cam sensor will do the trick.

Just a reminder for those who are yet to pay to not forget before the 10th of March.

Also I´m still needing engine info for the following

Sag and Craig and Badassyas

Just to make sure I order the right configuration ecu.

Thanks guys,.

Tomorrow is the last day.

The current total looks like 10 participants. Which I must say is well done. I´ll try and keep things updated on expected delivery dates.
