Just picked up a breaker that has the two nearside doors and the offside rear deadlocked. We cannot unlock them no matter what we do. It's gonna fight us all the way breaking it all though the drivers door!!!

It's an Aug 86 320iSE

The drivers lock is fooked. The key turns but it does nothing. You cannot lock the door from inside either. The drivers door is permanently unlocked.

We can unlock and lock the boot with the key and the central locking relay clicks.

When I viewed the car I took the locking relay module out and it's bone dry and not corroded in anyway. Never seen any moisture by the looks of it.

The drivers door panel is already off.

Is there a way I can quickly release the other 3 doors? Without a quick fix I'm gonna have to remove all the seats and console out through the drivers door and remove the door panels forcibly and actually muller the mechs to relaeas?

Thanks in advance
Trev

Nige found it Si. Guess who owned it? The homo form hove with XMX! And the history with this one far exceeds XMX, original bill of sale for Park Lane export to a Captain Greenwood stationed in Germany. and every bill (All BMW) from then including the obligatory homos head job to £2k at chandlers! shame it's rusty and a quattroport b20.

So are we saying theres no way of releasing the doors? I need all four EW regs out of it!! There must be a way. Theres always a way...................

Pop the rear edge of the doorcards. The two 7mm hex self tappers that hold each locking motor are only just hidden under the rear edge of the card, about half way down, and once these are unscrewed the dead lock motor complete can just lift up and down on its linkage.
Alternatively you could try applying 12 volts to the blue and black wires at the locking ECU plug.

Thought I'd update this with the result.

Did as above and supplied the + to the blue and the - to the black on the ecu plug and there was a click. We were then able to pull the locks up from inside on all three doors and the job was a goodun.

Knew that there had to be a way. Theres always a way.

Thanks Brian.

Thats interesting, my Silver Touring came from Park Lane Tourism & Diplomatic Sales, The First Stamps in the book are a German Dealer, I guess mine was sold to a member of the Armed Forces.
