A Reseda green 520!

On a V plate it'll have the old style square tooth cambelt - you'll need to convert it to later (post 10/81) pulleys because the old type belt is NLA. A set of E30 pulleys from an old L Jet car is cheap enough.

Tyre pressures? 27 front and rear. Up to 4 persons, 30 front and rear.

thanks :) It's a one owner, low mileage BMW Park Lane supplied car, absolutely loving it

I don't do my own spannering sadly, was going to take it to J&D in High Wycombe where I used to take my E30, is there anywhere else better though? It's been maintained by a Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists over the last few years so should be in good nick, is dribbling a bit of oil though..

Try Pacerpete on here - he loves these, especially the Solex 4A1 carburettor!

Oil leaks will be cam cover gasket and D seals, cam oil seal and oil pressure switch.

Love it - the colour's superb. When did 'executives' all decide they had to drive silver or black cars to be taken seriously? :(

I must be ill, but I'm warming to an E12. I had a few back in the day - a 1978 S 520 Auto in Olive green, a silver 525 Auto on a T (WOW118T) that I bought for the plate and a silver 528 Auto TPA308S as well as a Sapphire blue M535i.

The Olive green 520 Auto was the best - despite 180'000 miles it went well, sounded great and drove really well.

Being a V plate, it should have the electric mirror, rear belts, rear heater air vent - should also have the single vacuum servo for the brakes on a long linkage/bracket and not those hateful twin servos.

Yep, she's August 1979, first of the V's. The 1980 model was introduced at the 1979 Frankfurt show. I'm looking at a BMW press shot of a 528i centre console, heater dial mounted digital clock and Becker Monza radio cassette looking rampant.

I really like the first ones with the dinky hubcaps. You see them a lot on E9s too.

...decided it was time to get serious with this one, it's up North right now and will soon be 100% rust free  Bit of a shock to see how bad the scuttle was, just looked like a bit of light bubbling on the surface 8O

..the body man wants to fabricate I think, am always on the look out if you've got any other bits though :) The (BMW) bodyshop guy is suggesting bonding rather than welding this section, using the tech they use for bonding new panels on the current models. Stronger than a weld apparently. Full pics to follow :)

i bet this means he wont have to take out the dash.So long as all the rust is removed first ie underneath.

also would be much easier to make repair section from a good used panel due to complex shape
