I have started this thread in the Engine swaps section as most work to be done now will be focused around the build
Where do i start? well as some of you know I got this turd a while back and I was going to fit the 2.7 from my cab, I then decided to sell on the 2.7 with the intensions of going the M52B28 route, after a few complications I took the plunge and sourced a good low mileage M52 from a 728i Auto with FSH ect.. and started collecting the conversion parts.
Then when browsing through the for sale section last week I noticed Umar's advert for Fuzzy's cossie conversion set up and adecided to go for it
I've always been into Fords, mainly XR2's and RS turbos. but have always wanted for a nice Saph cossie but never been able to afford the premiums in the past. So to go for the chance of putting a cossie lump into my E30 seemed to good to miss.
I'm off down to collect the E30/Cossie conversion parts on Saturday which includes: Left & right arms that bolt to the engine and then fit on to standard 325i engine mounts, they have been painted with hammerite black and are made out of roughly 10mm steel angle
Modified Sump that has been tig welded to clear the E30 crossmember
Modified oil Pick Up pipe to go with the sump
Modified wiring loom to fit to the e30 engine plug in the engine bay, the loom has been re-covered with harness tape.
Custom Prop, half e30 and half Ford that has been hammerited in black
Modified gear selector
Modified clutch fork for use with the E30 master cylinder
so from then I will be starting to get together the further bits I will need for the conversion, currently looking into a possible Donk thats available for when I have the funds together, a Stage 3 lump from a RWD saph which will have the RWD gearbox needed and ECU.
The car has had a bit of work done since the last time I posted, been into the bodyshop to have my Tech II kit fitted, rear pop out fitted and a nice set of 9j Borbet A's
Also got an E46 3 turn Quick rack coming from Dan who has been a great help with info to help me out
Have say a big thanks to Mick for all the help so far geting this one sorted out
heres a few pics of the car as it stands
