My wipers do not work properly on intermitent. You have to hold the stock down to keep them working as soon as you let go they stop in the middle of the windscreen. Is this a motor or switch problem

Many thanks have tried that but must be something else either relay or the motor itself do you think

hi all, better late than never, i got this problem i changed the stalk, motor and relay but nothing has changed and the wipers stop anywhere on the screen and the mot is due lol :eek: any help would be nice

With the linkage dis-connected from the motor,does the linkage move freely?

my problem is..the constant/fast constant work ok

but the 1 tap down for 1 wipe, and the up 1 click for every 5 second wipe, dont work ? any help on that ?

That's switch/relay related,I think,is there any rubbish under the relay in the fuse box?
Then try a replacement switch.

i dont think so, what relay is it in the fuse box ? i have spares from the breaker, is a switch/relay the same thing ?

Relay is the long black one in the fuse box,they have a habit of trapping fuse's under them,causing all sorts of issues.By switch,I mean the stalk on the steery column....sorry.

ah ok, il check that relay out, will the one from a 1990 is be exact same as an 87 sport ?

i dont think its the switch/stalk mind

mine has this simptom too. when i use the 1 wipe the wipers stick in middle of the screen on way back to there position

Note that the method of removal of the scuttle grill is wrong in both links. You slide it downwards, against the pressure of the spring clips along the bottom to unhook the plastic tabs at the top, pull out the top and lift it away. No danger of damaging paintwork if done this way.
