No mate, I may have a play in the morning and see if it makes any difference, but I want to give it a half decent road test, like a 10 mile blat to check they don't heat up

shame I am carting our Kid to York with the trailer on otherwise I could have offered a lift but I'm getting him there and dumping him for 3pm before heading down to the pod and then I'll be picking him up on the way back so the van will be full to the brim as it is. unless you don't mind hanging about its better than being totally stuck dude, I'm sure I can work something though if you are desperate.

It's got to be this. Drop the column undertray and the glovebox down, 17mm and a pair of locking pliers to set the pedal height. It's also worth taking both clevis pins out and making sure the brake pedal isn't seizing. Also make sure the pedal return spring is there - if it's not, the brakes will not return fully, drag on and overheat after a few miles. If in doubt, add an extra spring to make really sure.

Bleed the brakes out again, and make sure the pedal sinks down easily - if it feels hard, it could be the front flexies healing up inside. But the pedal/cross link is my guess.

maybe the manual pedal box was never quite set up, it takes a bit of fine tuning to get it just right,

Fitted a spoilerless bootlid today, looks alright.

Bled the brakes and still a wank pedal, so am going to have to pull the master cylinder and servo off tomorrow and see where we are at. What an arse.

Maybe try the rod first. See how much travel it'll take up?

Yeah, I'll give the rod a tickle, but I don't think it will take up enough slack mate.

IIRC I wound the nut on the end of the servo push rod right in, so there's a few mm to be had there if that's where the problem is. Maybe the spacer moved further into the master cylinder when i first jabbed the brakes?

Had the lot off today, master cylinder, servo etc. Checked I was happy with the length of the servo rod etc. Put it all back together, bled the brakes off again. Pedal is better but still not what it should be, sick of the cooont.

If I decide to dig the wilwoods out the garage, do I need to go up to a bigger master cylinder?

I'm going to persevere with this a bit longer, but the lure of a certain E28 is strong.

Just pull the MC forward and wind the push rod out a turn or two at a time until your happy with the pedal

I was nervous of doing that though as I thought I'd then end up with the brakes sticking on again.

I did this to some extent yesterday when I had the m/c and servo separated and when I had wound the servo push rod out a couple of turns, when I pushed the m/c onto the servo it pushed fluid out the ports on the last 4-5mm of travel before the m/c was flush with the servo. So I wound it back out so there was probably about 1mm gap between servo & m/c when pushing them back together before I could feel it resisting slightly.

What do you reckon this turd will frag for?

Yeah, Lee was pissing about in the loft when a shelf collapsed and his collection of bowling balls bounced of his head one by one. Then he fell out of the loft and cascaded down the stairs... coming to rest by the front door. His missus came home from work and couldn't figure out why the front door wouldn't open, no matter how hard she struck the door against whatever object was blocking the way. After 5 minutes of this, Lee 'saw the light' and decided putting an M30 in his chromie was a great idea

Yep, V12, floor removed, spaceframe on ladder type bottom end, bulkhead cut away and engine shoved right back, full cage, sheet steel floor, not sure on the rear end yet.

Car is unlikely to be road legal again but it could be possible. Will retain OEM external appearance though.

Oh and a big naughty shot of gas for the drag strip.

So M52 conversion will be for sale later in the year along with M3 interior and anything else not needed.
