Here are the first pics of some of the "Northern Monkey" weekend, Photobucket is being a pain in the arse at the mo and won't let me bulk upload all the pics, so I started doing them individually last night. Will get the rest done tonight and hosted.

Poor Mick, had a bit of a crap weekend where he lost his chin spoiler on the way to my house, only then to have problems with his inlet bellows collapsing on full throttle and then his diff deciding to make a bid for freedom.

Rear bush broke off the casing, on the start line, dropped on the tarmac and scrapped. 8O

He had a CDA filter fitted and as soon as you gave it wide open throttle, it was causing the bellows to collapse inwards. The bellows were brand new too. So he pulled the filter off to run it down the strip.

We had left already by the time he had the diff dramas, but it looks like the rear casing failed around where the mounting bush is.

It's clear you've used a reducer though.. There is part of your issue!! It was designed for a smaller engine..

this

cable ties on the rears would have prevented this .

what would have caused this to happen ?

i had a snapped cooling fin when the diff arrived by courier so all i can think of is it was dropped and weakened :? the diff has only been in a couple of weeks and not seen much action in that time either .

So the bolts were still holding onto the beam Mick? Id have been tempted to jack the diff back up and a ghetto fix for the drive home.

yeah all bolts are there Dan,you know i thought about jacking the diff up and loop a tow rope around it a few times, but i'd have been paranoid to death all the way home about it coming loose again.

should be one in Newcastle, that's where i'm getting the diff plate from so hopefully i can grab a gasket at the same time.

re the rear beam/prop,i've geared myself up for the worst so anything less will be a bonus .

You could see your car had the legs once it got going, your terminal speeds were a few mph higher also. Nice sleeper there dude.
