6yrs later I finally decide to start one of these!!
I suppose I should go back in time and bore those who are lifeless enough to trawl through yet another one of these and give you all some info...
Many years ago back in 1991, someone decided they'd like a Sport. They ticked the special options box and ordered Granitsilber-Metallic, the rarest of them all. A lovely colour IMO, but then their pen must of run out as the only other box that was ticked was black leather interior- no OBC, no blinds, no A/C, no C/C...
The important bit;
Jump forward to six years ago.
I was on the lookout for a metalic grey Sport with black leather- I found one.
Over the past few years I've done a few bits'n'bobs and this is what it looked like back then (most of you have seen these, but we're telling a story here)
Unfortunetly a car doesn't stay in this condition, 4yrs of fun and the past 2yrs of being off the road have taken their toll. This is what my driveway ornament now looks like;
As you can see, it's wearing plenty of battle scars, badly crazed paint, stone chips, etc.
Not looking too hot. Anyway it's time the Sport hit the streets again so first on the list is to have a check to see what the general condition is before an MOT...

So then, this won't be a straightforward polish and MOT.
This is only a surface delve- I wonder what will lurk behind the infamous Tech II...
The wheels should be easy to polish back up though so that's a bonus!! This is what they used to look like;
Oh well at least the interior is ok...
Oh 2yrs have taken it's toll there also;
My fave bit is the duct tape repair after a 'friend' got in with a CD case sticking out of his rear pocket- of course a denial was put forth!! Looks as though I'll have some nice garden furniture to sit on as I may well put in this interior I've had gathering dust in my office for a year;
Should look nice, but I have more important things to worry about first, like an MOT to find out more followed by some TLC!!
How about this then;
So then lets see the list: MOT, structural welding, cosmetic welding, paint resto, interior swap, dash swap, wheel refurb.
Oh did I forget to mention average 18mpg so something needs addressing there also!!
Right I'm off for a cuppa. MOT prep work next....
