Hi,

Some muppet just reversed into the front of my car =(

The kidney grill is pushed in and one edge of it has cracked, but that is the only visible damage.

However, the bonnet was also pushed in a tiny bit....(you really can't tell), and the release cable is now loose, which means I can no longer open the bonnet.

Is there a way to release the bonnet catch from outside? I'm guessing it's just behind the front grill. Maybe if I pulled the grill out and went at it with a screwdriver?

Any suggestions welcome!

Cheers,
Simon

Yes you can open it from the front,as you say get a screw driver and there is a little hole somewhere in the mechanism that you can pop it open.
Couldnt give a propor location but it is there i`ve had to do it myself when the cable snapped

So...

"A little hole somewhere in the mechanism behind the n/s front grille that you can pop it open".

Will have a crack at it over the weekend.

Thanks for the advice!

Found the hole, popped the bonnet, discovered that the release cable was loose due to a missing nut holding the release handle to the wall of the passenger footwell.

1 rawlplug & 1 screw later...job done =)

Thanks for the help!

Now to find a new grill...

Maybe he has already dry-lined the footwell because it was damp? :)
